Bingo Winning Tips
One of the best ways to understand the game of Bingo is to study its probabilities. Don’t worry – you won’t need to calculate all of the figures yourself! By studying what Bingo players have already researched, you’ll have a better idea of what the game involves. Bingo is, after all, a game of numbers, but it’s not all about luck. There are ways and strategies increase the odds in your favor while playing Bingo. To do this, it’s important to study the following Bingo tips and probabilities.
Are you already thinking “Numbers? Statistics? Blech!” Yes, there’s math involved, but if you weren’t at the top of your math class, don’t panic. Most of the probabilities that you need to know are simply percentages. These percentages let you know what your, and any other player’s, chances are of winning a specific Bingo game. They’re fun and informative – give it a try!
Let’s start with the basis of these probabilities. First of all, it’s important to know how many cards are being played in total. The statistics for a game of 100 cards will be different than the statistics for a game of 1000 cards. That’s because when there’s a larger sample, there’s a wider range of possibilities. One of the other factors to consider is how many calls are involved in the game. This is really about which pattern Bingo you’re playing in which Bingo style (75 Ball or 90 Ball Bingo).
Let’s try figuring out something fun – what are the odds of scoring a Bingo with the least amount of called numbers? We already know that it takes at least four calls to make a Bingo (four marked numbers plus the Free Space), so that is the minimum amount of calls needed in a game. Now we need to figure out what the odds are of actually scoring a four-call Bingo. If you’re playing in a 1000-card room, you have a .3% chance! In a 100-card room, the chances are even lower — .03% for a four-call victory.
Now, every time that another number is called during a Bingo game, that percentage that someone will get a Bingo will rise. In a 100-card game, for example, the chances of winning a five-call Bingo rises from .03% to .1% — still not very likely. Overall, you have the best chance of scoring a Bingo in both 16 and 17 calls. 20% of games will be Bingo’d on one of these numbers.
