Audible Bingo Cards for a Blind Bingo Fan
The Racing and Wagering Board has now allowed the use of electronic audible cards in the Bingo halls. Thanks to Joanna Richardson, an ardent bingo player from Rochester who fought a tough battle for the right to use audible bingo cards during game play in bingo halls. Ms. Richardson is visually impaired and thus use of such cards would make it easier for her to play.
These cards are electronic and enable to keep a track of numbers in the course of a bingo game. The cards can be used with a setting where it beeps with a bingo and sounds an alert when a bingo player has 1 number to go to hit bingo. Now the cards have been allowed by the Board to be used by any player, the player need not be handicapped to use them.
Bingo is known for getting people closer. And this is an excellent example where Bingo has enabled disabled people to enjoy and mix up with the rest of the world.
